La Liga hot-shot ready to turn down Barcelona to secure Arsenal transfer

Posted by

In-form Celta Vigo forward Nolito is ready to back-track on his ambitions to return to former club Barcelona if Arsenal make an offer for his services according to the Metro.

The 28-year-old Spanish international has been in superb form this season, netting five goals in La Liga, and could help Arsene Wenger to boost his attacking options.

Danny Welbeck is out injured whilst Olivier Giroud has been left out of Arsenal’s starting eleven in recent weeks with Wenger opting to use Theo Walcott as his chief central striking option.

Nolito left Barcelona for Benfica in 2011 but returned to Spain in 2011 and has been a consistent goal-scorer for Celta Vigo over the past two years, scoring 32 goals in 76 La Liga appearances.

One can well understand why Nolito would prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium over a return to the Nou Camp given that the versatile attacker would have to fight Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez for a spot in Luis Enrique’s starting eleven.
