Liverpool & Everton among host of EPL sides tracking wonderkid goal machine who scored 20 in 26 last term

Premier League duo Liverpool and Everton are understood to be hot on the heels of Barnet wonderkid Daniel Cheema.

The 16-year-old has been making waves in the lower leagues for Barnet’s youth team, but he could soon be set for considerable step up, with both Swansea City and Sunderland also understood to be keen on the teenage sensation [as per the Mirror].

Cheema—who turns 17 this month—bagged 20 goals in just 26 outings last term, and has even improved on that record this season, having scored 16 efforts already.

While Cheema’s exploits for the Bees’ underage side may feel like a world away from the prospect of a relegation battle with the Swans or the Black Cats, or of battling for Europe with the Merseyside pair, Barnet boss Martin Allen has already seen enough promise in the wonderkid to include him in the first-team set up.

However, it looks likely that whoever ultimately moves to sign the prodigy will have to see off considerable competition, with Liverpool, Everton, Swansea and Sunderland joined by the likes of Norwich City and West Ham United, as well as a collection of Championship clubs, who are keen on the rare talent.

The second-tier sides keen on the player—as per the tabloid—are Charlton Athletic, Brentford, Wolves and Reading, although they may not fancy their chances of seeing off the player’s Premier League suitors.
