International defender agrees to sign for Liverpool: Deal done in next 72 hours in time for FA Cup clash

Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia has reportedly agreed a deal to join Liverpool to become their third signing of the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb has claimed that the 27-year-old has agreed a deal with the Reds and will officially sign for them in the next 72 hours.

However, should the negotiations and paperwork move faster than expected, he could be in line to make his first appearances for the club in their FA Cup clash with Exeter City on Friday night.

The Italian international has made 186 appearances for Inter ever since he joined the club in 2011, but has been allowed to leave the San Siro to join the Reds to help solve their injury crisis that has seen Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho all sidelined.

Ranocchia would become the club’s third signing of the window behind Marco Grujic and Kamil Grabara, who both joined the club on Tuesday.
