Tottenham transfer news: Spurs agree fee for swap deal as 3rd summer signing edges closer

There’s some positive Tottenham transfer news to report this morning as Spurs have reportedly agreed a fee with Marseille for the purchase of France youth international Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs will pay around £10.9m for for N’Koudou, with Clinton N’Jie moving in the other direction on an initial loan deal which is likely to be made permanent at a later date.

Tottenham will be hoping that N’Koudou offers more than N’Jie did in his first season at White Hart Lane.

N’Jie failed to score in 14 Spurs appearances, just two of which were starts. The 22-year-old former Lyon man seemed to lack composure on the ball, although he did demonstrate impressive pace.

Winger N’Koudou is also quick, but he is arguably less raw than N’Jie.

N’Koudou, 21, is very right-footed, but was used mainly on the left flank last season, allowing him to cut inside and score five Ligue 1 goals in 28 appearances. He also provided three assists.

Spurs have already made two signings this summer, bringing in Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen.
