Newcastle United’s star midfielder Cheick Tiote is set to become the subject of a bid from the Turkish Super League side Galatasaray according to TalkSport.
The repot states that the Lions have turned their attention towards Tiote after failing to land Lucas Leiva from Liverpool earlier this month. Per-the-source, Galatasaray are keen to sign Tiote over the coming days however, the report also states that both Watford and Al-Jazira are interested in the Ivory Coast international.
The Istanbul Giants sporting director Levent Nazifoglu has confirmed that Galatasaray’s would be seeking alternatives after failing to land Lucas and Tiote is understood to be on the shortlist. Newcastle could be tempted into letting Tiote leave for the right fee as he is unsettled and was not picked for the first two games.
The 30-year-old joined Newcastle from Twente on a £3.64 million move in 2010 and has just another year remanning on his current contract.
