(Video) Sam Vokes stuns Liverpool as Burnley take just two minutes to open scoring with brilliant strike

Burnley took an early 1-0 lead over Liverpool on Saturday, with Sam Vokes scoring the opening goal of the game for the hosts.

Jurgen Klopp made changes to his starting line-up with Daniel Sturridge and James Milner coming in, but it wasn’t the start that the German tactician was hoping for.

Sean Dyche’s men fell to a disappointing home defeat to Swansea last weekend to open up their Premier League campaign and would have been desperate to get their first points on the board sooner rather than later.

While it was a nightmare start for Klopp, it couldn’t have gone better for the hosts with Vokes hammering this effort past a hapless Simon Mignolet who could have done little to stop it from finding the back of the net.

For all their talent and attacking threat in the final third, Liverpool are seemingly going to have to do something about their defence as it follows on from conceding three goals in their win at Arsenal last weekend.
