Arsenal look set to face competition over the potential Nabil Fekir transfer as reports in Spain claim Real Madrid have made steps to hijack the move.
According to Don Balon, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has contacted the France international about snubbing a move to the Premier League in favour of the Bernabeu.
The report claims Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of his fellow Frenchman, who has established himself as one of Europe’s top attacking midfield players this season.
Fekir, 24, has 14 goals and four assists for Lyon in all competitions, with the Daily Star recently claiming Arsenal were edging closer to signing him for around £60million.

With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil set to be out of contract in the summer, it would be a major blow if the Gunners ended up missing out on an attacker of Fekir’s calibre to help replace them.
Fekir looks ideally suited to Arsene Wenger’s style of football, but could equally be a success at a big club like Real Madrid.
If Don Balon’s latest claims are correct, it seems Arsenal will have to work extra hard to ensure they can see off the competition to secure the much-needed Fekir transfer.
