West Ham preparing search for David Moyes’ replacement

West Ham United are reportedly set to begin their search for David Moyes’ successor.

That’s according to a recent report from Football Insider, who claims the Irons’ hierarchy are planning to identify possible replacements for the Scotsman.

Moyes’ contract with the club runs out at the end of the season and there is thought to be little desire on either side to negotiate an extension.

Obviously, failure to agree a contract renewal will see the former Everton and Manchester United boss released from the club he returned to in 2019.

Reports the Hammers are preparing for the 60-year-old’s departure may come as a surprise to some fans. Although the Londoners, who sit mid-table after nine games, haven’t started this campaign as well as they would have hoped, last season’s remarkable Europa Conference League trophy win should have allowed the Scot plenty of credit in the bank, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Possible candidates to succeed Moyes have not been named, but one thing is for sure, the Hammers’ next set of fixtures, which include a Europa League group game against Olympiacos, could be season, as well as career-defining, for their manager.
