Chelsea set to lose out on iconic tie up as Tottenham close in on £60m kit deal

If there’s one sure fire way to make money for a football club these days it’s through the sales of replica shirts, however, it appears that Chelsea may have missed out on an iconic tie-up with Jordan.

As an off shoot of the Nike brand, Jordan has long since been seen as one of the coolest sports brands to be seen in, with PSG famously wearing some of its creations.

Chelsea news: Tottenham could gazump Blues for iconic kit deal

Football Insider note their wish to provide kits to a London club, and Todd Boehly’s closeness to the brand was thought to be the deciding factor in Chelsea landing a £60m deal.

The best laid plans often appear to not work out as expected though, and with Mauricio Pochettino’s side unlikely to qualify for Europe at this stage, Jordan are reluctantly looking elsewhere – with Tottenham closest to taking advantage of the Blues current misfortune.

Footy Headlines have come up with a couple of renderings of what the kits might look like for both teams.

A final design wouldn’t appear to have been agreed upon as yet, but if Spurs can gazump their London rivals, it would be a real coup for them commercially.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are currently on course for a Europa League berth next season, however, if they continue to pick up points, a Champions League finish isn’t beyond them.
