Man United offering Harry Maguire as part of audacious swap deal with Prem rivals

The summer transfer window will soon be here and it appears that Man United are once again looking at off loading centre-back Harry Maguire.

The England international has turned his season around and of late has been one of Erik ten Hag’s most consistent performers.

Compared to when there were strong rumours last summer which reported that he was on his way to West Ham, Maguire’s form then and now is like night and day.

Man United want to trade Harry Maguire for Lucas Paqueta

There’s nothing to suggest that Maguire himself wants to move on from Old Trafford, but that decision could be taken out of his hands if current news turns out to be correct.

The Daily Express (h/t Fichajes) note that the Red Devils are trying to engineer a potential deal that would see Maguire and cash change hands in exchange for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta.

Harry Maguire to West Ham could be back on

On the face of it there’s a school of thought which would suggest that Man United would be getting a much better bargain, however, Paqueta was happy enough to leave the East Londoners before a move to Man City collapsed, so a decent amount of money as well as an in-form again Maguire might not be the worst deal in the world for West Ham either.

Much is likely to depend on how both clubs finish the season and the package that the players concerned are offered thereafter.

With City seemingly no longer chasing the Brazilian’s signature, that would leave the way clear for their arch rivals to make their move.
