Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano expects Spurs will be a their “best level” vs Man City despite Arsenal title threat

Fabrizio Romano is predicting an exciting game between Tottenham and Manchester City tonight in what could be a huge game in the Premier League title race.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano made it clear he expected Spurs would compete at their best level against Pep Guardiola’s side, even though a draw or a win for the home side would hand their north London rivals Arsenal a major advantage in the title race.

This evening’s fixture is City’s game in hand over Arsenal, so they have to make it count if they are to be in the driving seat for the final day of the season, with a defeat at Spurs meaning the Gunners would have their fate in their own hands, just needing a win at home to Everton this weekend to lift their first title in 20 years.

Will Arsenal or Man City win the Premier League title?

There is a bitter rivalry between Tottenham and Arsenal, so Ange Postecoglou has already had to field questions about the club’s fans tonight hoping to see their team lose as it would help City take the trophy.

Still Romano clearly doesn’t expect anything other than THFC giving it their all in this big game.

Fabrizio Romano looks ahead to Tottenham vs Manchester City

“Finally, I’m looking forward to tonight’s big game in the Premier League between Tottenham and Manchester City, with so much riding on this result for both teams,” Romano said.

“With Aston Villa dropping points against Liverpool, it gives Spurs a slim hope of catching them and finishing fourth, so I’m sure they will compete at their best level tonight even if getting a result against City helps Arsenal in the title race.

“Still, City have been on fire recently, so I’m sure it will be a fantastic game and it feels too close to call now.”
