Liverpool are reportedly planning a potential transfer move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who was a target for Chelsea in the summer.

The Senegal international has impressed with his performances in Ligue 1, as well as at the recent World Cup, and it could soon earn him a big move to the Premier League.

According to Ekrem Konur, Liverpool remain keen on Camara, as it seems they’ve been monitoring his situation since a move to Chelsea collapsed on Deadline Day.

“Liverpool are planning to strengthen their midfield in future windows, with Lamine Camara still among their targets,” Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur posted on X.

“Despite his move to Stamford Bridge falling through, Liverpool’s interest in the Senegal midfielder remains. Last summer, Camara was valued at around €55M.”

This has been a long-running saga now, with Liverpool and Chelsea both strongly linked with Camara, so what to make of the current situation?

From our perspective, we’ve recently received information that Chelsea are no longer pursuing Camara due to not wanting to deal with Monaco again, leading them to explore other targets – you can find out about these here.

Meanwhile, a recent report from talkSPORT stated that LFC had already held some talks over signing Camara, so it certainly seems like this won’t be the last we hear about the 22-year-old potentially moving to Anfield.

It’s easy to imagine Camara having been a useful signing for CFC, who lost Enzo Fernandez without replacing him this summer, but he will also surely prove a fine addition to Andoni Iraola’s squad after a slightly unconvincing start to the new season.
