Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly among the clubs eyeing up Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma, who is in the final year of his contract.

The talented Japan international has been an eye-catching performer during his time in the Premier League, and he’s getting closer to becoming a free agent in 2027.

This will surely have plenty of clubs on alert, with a report from TEAMtalk naming Liverpool and Spurs as his main suitors for now, though others could also get involved.

The report mentions past interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as European giants Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Where next for Kaoru Mitoma ahead of potential free transfer?

Mitoma is an exciting attacking player on his day, and he looks like a very tempting option as a free agent, even if he hasn’t been as consistent in more recent times.

Liverpool could do with more options in attack, with Mitoma looking like someone who could at least provide depth in Andoni Iraola’s squad.

Tottenham, meanwhile, might be a tempting option for the 29-year-old as they’re managed by his former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Mitoma played some of his finest football under De Zerbi, so it could be a good decision for him to try his luck with a move to Spurs, even if there could also be some risks associated with that move.

THFC have struggled a great deal in recent times, and it isn’t out of the question that De Zerbi might not last that much longer as manager of the north London side.

Mitoma might do better to opt for a more settled club, so it will be interesting to see who he leans towards as he can most likely expect a good amount of options both in England and abroad.
