Manchester United could be set for move to Ligue 1 giants.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney could be set for a sensational summer move to French giants PSG according to The Daily Mail.
The future of the England international has been under constant speculation since he was dropped by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson for the club’s crucial Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
The club have since insisted that Rooney will be staying at Old Trafford but reports have suggested that the player was furious at being dropped and is ready to leave United come the summer.
The 27 year old has been linked with a number of top European clubs, including the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
It appears PSG are ready to make a firm approach for the player after one of the club’s chiefs expressed his admiration for Rooney.
PSG President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has said that while no official moves have yet been made for the player, the club were monitoring his availability.
PSG are one of the few clubs in the world who could afford Rooney’s astronomical wages with some reports suggesting the England star currently receives a pay package in the region of £300,000 a week.
But Qatari-backed PSG would be more than happy to match that as they currently pay out around £11.8 million a year to Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Should Rooney join the French side, he could find himself lining up alongside former England captain David Beckham.
