Sunderland will be hoping to make some progress in 2013/14 with Paolo Di Canio starting his first full season in charge at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats fought against relegation in 2012/13 and will be hoping to pick up some points against fellow bottom-half teams such as Fulham, Southampton and Crystal Palace in their opening three games, though they then face a tricky home game against Arsenal.
They will also host Liverpool at the end of September, and travel to Manchester United at the start of October. Their first derby of the season will come on the 26th of October when they host rivals Newcastle, and they will hope to continue their good recent home record against Manchester City when Manuel Pellegrini’s side visit the Stadium of Light on the 9th of November.
Sunderland will face a tough end to the season with games against Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United in April and May, though they will hope for a good finish at home to Swansea.
