West Brom are looking to Sunderland forward Stephane Sessegnon to solve their problems upfront, with the Daily Mail claiming the Baggies have made a £6million deadline day bid.

The Benin international has been an impressive performer at the Stadium of Light over the last couple of seasons, but looks to have fallen out of favour with new manager Paolo Di Canio, leading to speculation that he could leave the club this summer.

With the transfer deadline just hours away, West Brom now hope to be able to lure him to the Hawthorns, as they seek new attacking additions to their squad, following a difficult start to the Premier League season.

Steve Clarke’s side have failed to score a single goal in their opening three league games, and are missing the influence of striker Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Chelsea this summer after spending last season on loan with the Baggies.

Nicolas Anelka, Matej Vydra and Scott Sinclair have been brought in so far this summer, but Clarke has hinted that he may target one more attacking player, and will be hoping £6million is enough to land Sessegnon from Sunderland.
