Man United are considering a summer move to sign a trio of Southampton talents with David Moyes targeting teenage full-backs Calum Chambers and Luke Shaw as well as midfielder Adam Lallana according to the Independent.

Moves to freshen up his Old Trafford squad make great sense and Moyes may well feel that the young St Mary’s talents could help to form part of a new look Man United side as the Scot seeks to put his own stamp on the playing staff he inherited from former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

With Patrice Evra strongly linked with an imminent Man United exit, with the Veteran left-back’s contract expiring this summer, a move for England international Shaw makes a great deal of sense though the 18 year old may well end up costing a hefty fee, such is the potential he has shown over the past 18 months.

Similarly right-back Chambers may well cost a fair amount, though perhaps less than Shaw, and he too may be seen as a preferable option to both Rafael and Chris Smalling, with neither player impressing in the right sided defensive role this season.

A move for Lallana would also make a great deal of sense as Moyes’s current midfield options are a little brittle and out of sorts.

Micheal Carrick has had a steady enough campaign but Tom Cleverley has looked ineffective whilst summer signing Marouane Fellaini has not proven a success in an unfamiliar holding role whilst Darren Fletcher continues to feel his way back into action following a lengthy time out through illness.

Lallana is arguably having the best season of his career, continuing to prove his ability to make an impact at the highest level having represented Southampton in League One and the Championship. The 25 year old is into his eighth seasons in the Saints first team and has racked up over 250 appearances for the club and is likely to be part of Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
