The former Everton manager was given his marching orders by United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at a face-to-face meeting at the club’s Carrington training ground at 7.40am on Tuesday.

However, rumours had begun to spread across the internet and Twitter as early as Monday afternoon claiming that Moyes was set to shortly be relieved of his managerial duties at Old Trafford, but amazingly the Scot himself apparently had absolutely no idea whatsoever about what was coming.

In fact, so unaware of his impending fate, that Moyes was even believed to still be working on possible transfer deals for four new players for next season on Monday morning, despite seemingly the rest of the world knowing he was on borrowed time.

And it is that situation which is understood to have so angered Moyes, who felt that Woodward should have informed him far sooner than he eventually did.
