Manchester United are set to follow up on their initial interest in Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez this summer as they prepare to undergo a major facelift, according to talkSPORT.

Last month, we told you that United were checking up on the 28-year-old as they look to overhaul their current playing staff after a disappointing season saw them clock up their lowest Premier League finish ever.

United have scouted Argentina international Perez several times in recent weeks, with the midfielder playing a vital role in Benfica’s successful pursuit of the Portuguese league title.

The tricky midfielder will also have the chance to add a European trophy to his belt this season as the club take on Sevilla in the Europa League final later this month and United scouts will be in attendance in Turin to keep tabs on him before putting together an offer the bring him to Old Trafford.

Perez has been capped six times by Argentina, and has been tipped to head to the World Cup this summer. He has been with Benfica since 2011 and the Portuguese champions value him at around £16m.
