Man United’s ongoing pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal may well lead to the Old Trafford side having to fork out a small fortune for the Chilean according to the Daily Star.

Louis van Gaal is keen on bringing in midfield talents who can make an impact in the final third, a player who can score goals and provide assists aplenty, i.e. someone unlike Darren Fletcher, Micheal Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Marouane Fellaini.

Juventus are willing to sell 27 year old Vidal but only at a price that suits them.

That price is apparently £50m PLUS Portuguese winger Nani and French veteran Patrice Evra and though that would seem to be a tad inflated in terms of a valuation it may still be a price Louis van Gaal is willing to pay.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man has racked up 28 goals and 17 assists over the past three Serie A title winning campaigns and is a player who is approaching the peak of his careers and as such would be a massive signing for van Gaal to pull off.

Given that Luke Shaw has been brought in from Southampton one imagines the loss of Evra wouldn’t be an issue for the Dutch boss and Nani is pretty much a bit-part player at the Old Trafford side so it may just be the small matter of the £50m Juventus request for Vidal that may prove a stumbling block.
