AC Milan have approached Manchester United to enquire about the availability of winger Nani, according to reports in Italy.

Football Italia report claims by Sky Sport Italia that United are willing to sell Nani for a fee in the region of £6.5m.

That price would make the Portugal star much cheaper that Milan’s other wing targets.

However, the 27-year-old’s personal terms could present problems for the Serie A giants.

Nani’s weekly wages is could be deemed too high for the San Siro side, who, like United, will not compete in European competition this season.

Milan missed out on a place in the Europa League by finishing eighth in Serie A last term.

Nani joined United for a fee in excess of £20m in July 2007.

He has four years left to run on his current contract at Old Trafford.

Nani has played 228 games for United in all competitions, scoring 40 goals.

During his seven seasons at Old Trafford, he has won four Premier League titles, one League Cup, one Champions League and one FIFA Club World Cup.

His best season for United was the 2010-11 campaign, at the end of which has was named as Players’ Player of the Year at the Red Devils.
