Inter Milan are said to be preparing a £1.5m loan bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, with a view to signing him permanently next summer, according to talkSPORT.

The Italian giants are in the market for new signings upfront this summer, and Hernandez has long been linked as one of many options upfront for them in the transfer market.

The Mexican international has struggled for regular games after suffering a dip in form following a great first season with United back in 2010/11, and is widely expected to be allowed to leave in the near future.

Other clubs such as Atletico Madrid have also been linked with the 26-year-old in the past, but Inter now look to be stepping up their interest in bringing him to the San Siro with an initial loan bid for the player.

The Nerazzurri will offer to pay £1.5m to take Hernandez for a year, and could then offer another £9.5m to sign him on a permanent deal next summer, when he will be entering the final season of his contract at Old Trafford.

If Hernandez does move to Inter he will link up with his former team-mate and captain Nemanja Vidic, who joined on a free transfer from United earlier this summer.
