Luke Shaw will miss the start of the Manchester United’s new Premier League campaign, after being ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old defender, who joined the Old Trafford side from Southampton this summer, will be unavailable for United’s matches against Swansea City, Sunderland and Burnley.

Shaw, who made his England debut earlier this year, is also expected to miss England’s friendly against Norway on September 3rd at Wembley.

After making 35 Premier League appearances for the Saints last season, Shaw became the second summer signing for Louis van Gaal’s new look United side, following on from Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera.

Shaw signed a four-year contract at the club with the option to extend for a further year. United paid the South Coast club an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £30m – making him the most expensive teenager in history.

In Shaw’s absence, rumours linking MARCOS ROJO TO MAN UTD have gained speed. United are believed to be extremely interested in signing Sporting Lisbon and Argentina defender Rojo. The 24-year-old played left-back for his country at the World Cup and could be the ideal choice to fill in.
