Tweeting from their official account, the reliable Spanish paper revealed that Moyes, who left Old Trafford earlier this year, met with Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay on Thursday to discuss taking the manager’s job at the club.

The Basque outfit are considering replacing current boss Jagoba Arrasate, with Moyes emerging as one of their top candidates despite his disastrous and short-lived reign in charge of the Red Devils.

The Scot previously earned plaudits for his fine work in charge of Everton, but took United from 1st to 7th place in the space of a year after replacing the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

Moyes has recently spoken about his desire to get back into management, and could try his luck with a new challenge abroad after a long career in the Premier League.
