The midfielder has been linked to various clubs while finding it hard to start games for the Red Devils. Clubs such as Valencia have been rumoured to be interested in signing the former Chelsea man.
If any move were to happen it would be the 26-year-old’s second successive January transfer. He moved to Old Trafford ten months ago for £37.1 million, a then club record fee.
However, this season he has increasingly found himself on the bench as he has had to compete against a plethora of attacking talent after United’s summer spending splurge. The two time Blues player of the year hasn’t been in poor form in the Premier League, scoring three goals in his nine appearances.
The ex-World Cup winner won’t be leaving though, apparently. Guillem Balague has said that the Spaniard is perfectly happy in Manchester, and that manager Louis van Gaal is also pleased with his player.
