The 26 year old, who is currently on loan at Real Madrid, doesn’t appear to have a future at Old Trafford and will no doubt be considering his options and may see a move to St Mary’s as a possible way to re-ignite his flagging career.

Summer signing Graziano Pelle has hit a run of poor form whilst £12m Irishman Shane Long hasn’t proven a good investment as yet and as such Ronald Koeman would do well to bring in a fresh striking option over the summer.

Chicharito has been handed just one La Liga start since moving to the Spanish capital and it seems unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti will look to make the temporary move a permanent one.

Louis van Gaal has seen Radamel Falcao flounder during his loan spell at Man United and Robin Van Persie has gone off the boil, however, it still seems that the Mexican international’s days at Old Trafford are numbered.

There is no shortage of Premier League interest in Hernandez, with Tottenham, Stoke and Everton also interested.

During his time in the English top tier Hernandez has proven consistent, netting 59 goals in 155 appearances for Man United, a stat that’s all the more impressive when you consider 69 of those appearances were from the bench.
