Man United have reportedly launched an opening bid for FC Porto right-back Danilo according to the Metro.

The Old Trafford side have apparently offered £28.25m for the 23 year old Brazilian with Louis van Gaal no doubt unimpressed with the efforts of those in his current squad, with the likes of Luis Antonio Valencia and Rafael proving below par this term.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are both known to be keen on Danilo, who has 11 national team caps, and van Gaal will hope to secure the former Santos man for considerably less than his £37m release clause.
Danilo has seen his FC Porto side lose their grip on the Primeira Liga title, to arch rivals Benfica no less, and as such may be open to a fresh challenge.
