The Belgian received the ball on just outside the penalty area, before he smashed a strike across Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, and relieve some of the pressure on coach Louis van Gaal’s shoulders.
If there was a person to dig the Dutchman out, it would be Fellaini, given that many had written off his United career before van Gaal arrived.
The goal had arguably come slightly against the early run of play, with Tottenham looking to beat their rivals for a top four spot.
