Sure, Luis Suarez may play among the superstars of Barcelona and work deliciously in tandem with Lionel Messi and Neymar; and it may be Edinson Cavani who’s gearing up for a Champions League quarter-final double header against Barca, but Rolan outscores them both.

Even though he enjoys the service of the aforementioned Messi and Neymar, as well as the likes of Andreas Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic, and despite playing for the table-toppers in Spain, Suarez has only managed eight goals so far in his 19 appearances to date in La Liga.

Similarly, while Paris Saint-Germain boast the resources and the star power of no other side in France, one of their key attacking figures, Cavani, has managed a eight goals in 27 appearances in Ligue 1 this term.

He may not play for the most successful or glamorous side in the league, but 22-year-old Bordeaux forward pips both of them, having scored 11 in 20 starts so far this term.

Suarez will miss Uruguay’s friendly against Morocco this weekend because of Steven Gerrard’s testimonial at Anfield, but considering the emergence of Rolan-who has also been called up-coach Oscar Tabarez need not worry!
