Criticising those who suggest that Laurent Blanc is under pressure at Paris Saint-German, the coach’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes has predicted that soon there will be nothing that the ex-France captain hasn’t won.

Blanc secured a domestic treble with Girondins de Bordeaux back in the 2008-2009 season, winning the Trophee des Champions, the Ligue 1 title and the League Cup.

This season, he has already brought the Trophee des Champions back to the Parc des Princes—after a victory over En Avant de Guingamp in Peking—and is still in contention for four titles.

Indeed, Paris, who are still involved in the Champions League, the Ligue 1 title race and both domestic cups, are the only club in Europe still to be involved in four trophies.

Bernes, slamming those who insist that Blanc still has to prove himself, has argued that soon people will need to invent tournaments that the coach hasn’t won in order to find a way to criticise him.

“Believe me, he’s great!” began Bernes, as reported by France Football.

“We should be happy to have a French manager with his abilities at the head of one of the biggest French clubs which has immense international ambitions.

“A lot of major European sides would be content to have the kind of season that Paris are having.

“It’s as though Laurent Blanc doesn’t have the right to lose a match…soon, you will need to invent a trophy just to be able to say he hasn’t won it!”

PSG face Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they seek their first-ever European Cup triumph.
