Chelsea & Arsenal in battle for £10m-rated versatile forward

Chelsea and Arsenal are among a host of sides pursuing FC Sion forward Moussa Konate, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The 22-year-old Senegal international is already something of a journeyman player having already enjoyed stints in Israel, Russia and Italy prior to his move to FC Sion in 2014.

Since moving to Switzerland the versatile attacker, who can play out wide or in a central role, Konate has proven a massive hit.

Konate bagged 20 goals in his debut season at the Stade Tourbillon and has already scored seven goals in all competitions this season including a brace netted against Rubin Kazan in Europa League action during midweek.

Neither Arsenal or Chelsea have seen their striking options start the season all that way with the likes of Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Diego Costa having netted just four goals between them.

The Sunday Mirror claim FC Sion valued Konate at £10m and also state that Tottenham, West Ham and Everton are also interested in the attacker.

Konate impressed at the 2012 London Olympic Games, during which he netted five goals, he has also scored five goals in 10 appearances for the senior Senegal national team.
