Manchester United are believed to be close to agreeing a deal to sign exciting Benfica starlet Goncalo Guides, according to Shoot.
United are in the hunt for more talent in attacking positions during the January transfer window and have apparently identified the Portuguese youngster as the ideal man to give them the boost they so desperately need.
The report claims that the Red Devils are keen to thrash out terms for the teenager as they want to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal to his signature, as they are also claimed to be taking an interest in his services, too.
Guides has been billed as the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’ and can play anywhere across the attack, at home either on the wings or up front.
This would solve two problems for United, as Louis van Gaal wants more pace and trickery on the wings, but is also in desperate need of another goalscorer with Wayne Rooney’s form escaping him.
