Arsenal have completed the signing of Wolves’ 16-year-old defender Brayden Clarke on a permanent deal.

The Gunners have added another gem to their already thriving academy after completing the signing of the Wales international.

At just 16, Clarke has made a name for himself as one of the best young academy players with Arsenal confirming the signing early Saturday morning.

Only hours after the move was announced, Clarke made his debut for the club’s U-18 squad, starting as a centre-back in their 8-3 win against Crystal Palace.

The 16-year-old spent seven years in the Wolves academy and was a part of the Wales side that went all the way to the final in the European U-17 championships last year.

“The time has come for me to move onto a new chapter. I want to thank everybody who has helped me along the journey, and I wish all of my teammates at Wolves the best of luck for the future.” He wrote on Instagram.

The Gunners have offered their young academy stars a pathway into the first team and will be hoping that Clarke can follow the likes of Bukayo Saka.
