Atletico Madrid have a 2-1 advantage over Borussia Dortmund heading into the second leg clash of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday night with a potential matchup with La Liga rivals Barcelona awaiting them in the next round.
Diego Simeone’s side were very impressive for 45 minutes of the first leg last week in Madrid and should have the tie put to bed. However, Sebastien Haller pulled a goal back late on for Dortmund to keep the Bundesliga side’s Champions League dreams alive.
Atletico have work to do in Germany tonight to advance to the next round and come into the game off the back of a great 3-1 win at the weekend over Girona.
Simeone played a strong team on Saturday but has made five changes for Tuesday night’s game in Dortmund with Savic, Reinildo, Saul, Riquelme and Correa being replaced by Witsel, Gimenez, Azpilicueta, Llorente and Morata.
