Old Trafford outfit look to lure Bosnian hotshot by offering off form Bulgarian.

Manchester United are rumoured to be considering using Dimitar Berbatov to land Wolfsburg goal machine Edin Dzeko this summer. Sir Alex Ferguson has made noises about not wishing to sell the Bulgarian international but he may feel that a decent offer for the former Tottenham man may be too good to refuse. However he may opt to use the forward to help land Bosnian international Edin Dzeko.

The 24 year old Bundesliga goal machine has been linked with a move from Steve McClaren’s side and he would no doubt jump at the chance of a move to Old Trafford. Wolfsburg are trying hard to ward off interest in the towering forward but may feel that a deal that would see Berbatov returning to Germany as a decent deal.

German club Wolfsburg are ready to test Sir Alex Ferguson’s claim that his Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is not for sale by preparing a £16.5m bid for the Bulgarian. (footylatest.com)

The 29 year old has had two average seasons since his £30.75m move from White Hart Lane in September 2008 and seems like he may be living on borrowed time at Man United and could well welcome a move back to the Bundesliga where he first made his name during a successful five year spell at Bayer Leverkusen.

Ferguson is apparently keen to bring in new attacking talent to help shoulder the burden resting squarely on Wayne Rooney’s shoulders and is known to be an admirer of the Wolfsburg man but could struggle to finance a move for his services due to the club’s crippling financial state and therefore could turn to a player plus cash offer.
