The Stevan Jovetic transfer saga continue to rumble on this week with Fiorentina insisting there is no room for negotiation on the player’s asking price according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Jovetic had widely been expected to sign for Italian champions Juventus last week after Arsenal refused to meet Fiorentina’s £25 million asking price.

It was thought that Arsenal’s refusal to pay that sum had paved the way for the Old Lady to swoop in and sign the Montenegrin striker.

But it appears that Juventus are similarly unwilling to meet the Viola’s demands. But Fiorentina President, Sandro Menucci, insisted his team were in no hurry to sell and would not sanction Jovetic’s departure for a penny under the asking price.

Juventus are keen to bring in a new striker this summer as they look to re-establish themselves amongst the dominant forces in European football.

The club have already confirmed the arrival of Fernando Llorene, who has joined on a free transfer from Atletico Bilbao, but the Serie A giants are keen to add to their attacking options by providing Llorente with a new attacking partner.

But Jovetic may well find himself playing in purple again next season with Juventus and Arsenal seemingly both unwilling to meet a determined Fiorentina’s asking price.
