Old Trafford club ready to make move for Spurs star.
Manchester United are ready to throw their hat into the ring and make a move for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale according to The Mirror.
The Spurs winger looks set to be subject to a world record bid from Real Madrid after Bale informed Tottenham officials he was keen to speak with the Spanish giants.
Tottenham had hoped to hold on to Bale but are ready to discuss terms on a potential deal after showdown talks with the player.
Spurs are continuing to insist that in order to prise Bale away from White Hart Lane will cost Madrid a world record fee.
Manchester United are understood to also be interested in Bale and are monitoring the situation closely.
The Old Trafford club have been largely frustrated in their transfer attempts this summer after missing out on Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas.
The Premier League champions are keen to make a marquee signing to herald a new era under manager David Moyes and could be tempted into making an offer for Bale.
Should United make a move for the Welsh star, they could well fund the transfer through the sale of Wayne Rooney.
The England star has made it clear he wants to leave the club, and Chelsea are thought to be waiting in the wings with a £30 million offer.
