Chelsea have already had two bids for Rooney rejected by United.
Wayne Rooney has told David Moyes that he feels his career at Manchester United is over and he wants to leave the club, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The striker hasn’t travelled with the United squad to Sweden for their friendly against Stockholm due to a shoulder injury that is said to be genuine but not severe.
Chelsea are eager to take advantage of Rooney’s willingness to leave Old Trafford and have already submitted two bids for the England international.
Both bids were rejected by United but it is thought that the Blues will return with an improved £30 million offer while Arsenal also retain an interest in the player and may make an offer for the player if Chelsea continue to be re-buffed.
United boss David Moyes is keen to keep to Rooney at the club and has held several rounds of talks with the player in a bid to keep him at Old Trafford.
However, the striker continues to demand a transfer away from the club, feeling that he will unable to start afresh next season with Sir Alex Ferguson still being at the club as a director.
The pair fell out last season over Ferguson’s claims that the striker submitted a transfer request.
