Agent claims Brazilian could be set for move to Serie A side.
The agent of QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar has revealed that his client could be set for a return to Italy with Serie A side Fiorentina according to Goal.com.
Cesar joined QPR on a free transfer from Inter Milan last summer in what was something of a coup for the London club.
He put in a number of highly impressive performances over the course of the season but that was not enough to prevent the club from suffering relegation from the Premier League.
Cesar now looks certain to leave West London in the coming weeks as the club look to trim their wage bill.
Cesar is one of the club’s highest earners, as well as being one of the few players whose reputation remains intact.
The stopper had been linked with a move to Arsenal but it now appears that Fiorentina have taken pole position in the race for his signature.
One potential obstacle to the deal could be Cesar’s insistence on being offered a four year contract. The 33 year old currently has four years remaining on his current deal with QPR and is insisting any potential suitors match the duration.
Fiorentina are refusing to be drawn on the speculation.
