29-year-old left back David Carney ended his 12 month search for employment after agreeing terms with New York Red Bulls.
After securing a visa and passing a medical the ex Blackpool and Sheffield United man wil join forces with Soccerroo buddy Tim Cahill in the states.
Shoulder injuries have put the man from Sydney on the back foot in World Cup year and contributed to his release from Uzebekistani club Bunyodkor.
Red Bulls Sporting Director, Andy Roxburgh spoke to Fox Sports Australia about the deal: ” He is versatile and athletic and has competed at a high level.
“We are pleased to bring David to New York and look forward to his contribution as a member of the Red Bulls.”
