Red Bull Salzburg defender attracting interest from variety of top clubs.
Promising young Red Bull Salzburg defender Martin Hinteregger has revealed that Manchester United and a top Italian team, believed to be Juventus, are looking into signing him, according to talkSPORT.
The 21-year-old looks a great prospect after some fine recent displays, which have also caught the attention of the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool from the Premier League.
Although it is not yet clear where the young Austrian will end up, he has revealed that there is interest in him from Manchester United, which he admits is surprising and also an honour.
The Red Devils could be keen to strengthen defensively this January, with some doubts over the ageing pair of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at the back, after the Premier League champions have looked suspect in losing two Premier League games in a row.
United were also linked with a number of centre-backs during the summer transfer window, though moves for the likes of Benfica star Ezequiel Garay never amounted to anything as Moyes endured a tough time in the transfer market.
However, with Hinteregger’s latest revelation, a move for a top defensive talent could soon be on the cards for the Red Devils.
“I confirm, there is interest in me from Manchester United and a top Italian club,” he is quoted as saying.
“I am honoured, I honestly did not expect that. Actually my goal is to stay here, but in any case I will talk to my agent and consider whether a transfer might be beneficial.”
