Ex-Red Devils attacker to be named on Thursday as successor to recently sacked Mackay.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make Molde young midfielder Mats Moller Daehli his first signing after being confirmed as the new head coach of Cardiff City, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.
The struggling South Wales outfit decided to part company with previous manager Malky Mackay last week following a 3-0 home loss to Southampton in the Premier League.
However, the Bluebirds are believed to finally be ready to announce the former Manchester United forward as their new boss on Thursday after lengthy negotiations with the Norwegian, who has been promised a £25m transfer kitty by owner Vincent Tan.
And the first player that Solskjaer wants to sign is Norway international Daehli, 18, a player he knows well from their time working together at Molde.
