The Swans had been highly keen on bringing the former Liverpool trainee to the Liberty Stadium over the summer but were unable to reach an agreement with the Championship outfit. Welsh rivals Cardiff City then tried to capitalise on their failure to complete the deal with a bid of their own, only for the player to reject their advances.
Swansea revisited their interest again last week and ‘Pool manager Paul Ince confirmed that an approach had been made.
However, Ince Sr has insisted that he expects a considerable amount of interest from elsewhere before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
He said in the Blackpool Gazette on Monday: “It won’t just be Swansea who come in.
“But when you see him playing like he did on Saturday (during a 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Bolton), he’s going to get attention from other clubs.
“I thought that was Thomas back to his best. He was on a different level.
“Swansea have been in touch with our chairman. Karl (Oyston) is dealing with (Swansea’s) Huw Jenkins on that one.”
“Whether he’s here after January or until the summer, who knows?”
