It has been claimed recently that former Wales international was unhappy with Moyes over both the tactics that the Premier League champions have adopted so far this season, as well as his own lack of game time at Old Trafford in what has been a tough debut campaign for the Scot in the north west.

However, the 40-year-old has now denied those suggestions, saying: “The relationship is good. As a player you want to play all the time. I know, as I have done for the last five or six years, that I’m not going to play every game.

“I’ll probably play every two or three weeks to probably get the best out of me. The last time I played was probably the first time in six or seven weeks, but we’ve got a lot of players to choose from.

“But I showed with the performance against Olympiakos, I’m always ready to play, and that’s what you’ve got to do, not sulk when you’re not playing.

“There’s no problem with the manager, obviously a lot has been said though.”
