Atletico Madrid are readying a bid for Man City striker Alvaro Negredo as a possible replacement for Diego Costa, who has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon side.

Football Direct News believe that boss Diego Simeone will look to Spanish international Negredo to fill the void if Costa leaves though a lot would depend on whether Manuel Pellegrini wishes to sell a player who only joined the club last summer.
Whilst the 28 year old has now gone some 13 games without a goal Negredo has still racked up a hugely impressive 23 goals in all competitions in his first season at Man City.
A move back to La Liga could however tempt Negredo if he feels that he is not a first team regular, with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic all vying for spots in the Man City starting eleven.
Man City paid £16m to bring in Negredo from Sevilla last July and he is likely to be part of Vicente del Bosque’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
