The La Liga giants are already said to be bracing themselves for the exit of their prolific Brazil-born forward Costa when the summer transfer window does finally reopen for business, with the in-form Spain international understood to be set to join Premier League side Chelsea next season.
And as a result, Atleti have already been busy running their eye over a number of potential replacements for Costa, with the likes of Queens Park Rangers attacker Loic Remy, Tottenham Hotspur’s out-of-favour Spain international Roberto Soldado and Chelsea’s own former Atletico marksman Fernando Torres all believed to currently be interesting the Spanish top flight pacesetters.
However, if given the choice, then it is also believed that Atletico head coach Diego Simeone would prefer to lure the Gunners’ France international to the Vicente Calderon for next season, although with a contract with the north London club that still runs until June 2017, any potential move for Giroud will not be cheap.
