Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac has claimed that he is considering an offer from Manchester United.

The Red Devils are looking to recruit a long-term replacement for 32-year-old left-back Patrice Evra, who is out of contract this summer.

Southampton’s Luke Shaw has reportedly been the subject of a £30m bid from the Old Trafford outfit, but the teenager is said to be unsure about to committing to a club that are currently without a permanent manager.

With United seemingly looking to widen their search, it would appear that they have now identified Bundesliga starlet Kolasinac as a potential addition.

According to The Mirror, Kolasinac told Bosnian newspaper Dnevni Avaz: “Yes, I have offer from Manchester United.

“But, I will not hurry with the decision [over my future]. I have to see what Schalke think about it.”

Kolasinac was born in Germany and represented the country at various youth levels, but he has since earned two senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, for whom he will play for at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The 20-year-old played junior football for Karlsruher SC, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart prior to joining Schalke in 2011.

He has three years remaining on his current contract at the Gelsenkirchen club, who are current third in Germany’s top division.

If, as expected, Evra does leave Old Trafford this season, he will be difficult to replace.

The France international, who has frequently worn the captain’s armband during his United career, has made over 300 first-team starts since joining the 20-time champions of England from Monaco in January 2006.
