French international looks set for Liberty Stadium switch.
Swansea City have reportedly won the race to sign free agent forward Bafetimbi Gomis with the French international set to complete his move to the Liberty Stadium next week according to the Daily Express.
Newcastle United were seemingly leading the chase for the 28 year old, with a three year deal worth £75k a week said to be on the table, but apparently Garry Monk has persuaded the former Saint-Etienne and Lyon man to move to south Wales.
Sunderland and West Ham were also pursuing the big marksman, who is out of contract having seen his Lyon contract expire this summer.
Gomis is a proven goal-scorer who has netted over 100 top tier club goals and could well be a bargain buy for Swansea City, who may look to play the striker alongside Wilfried Bony, which may leave Michu fee to leave in the summer after a less than glorious second campaign at the Premier League club.
Bafetimbi Gomis has a dozen national team caps to his name, the last of which came last June.
