Vicente Calderon side want Liberty Stadium ace.

Check in to Portugal vs Ghana

La Liga side Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on signing Swansea City forward Michu according to the Daily Express.

The 28 year old had been strongly linked with a possible £6m move to West Ham but could well be tempted by a move to the Vicente Calderon where the Liberty Stadium man could be seen as an ideal replacement for Chelsea bound striker Diego Costa.

Michu’s second Premier League season did not quite live up to the efforts of his first campaign with the Spanish international managing just two goals in an injury ravaged term.

The cultured forward bagged 22 goals in his first season at the south Wales club and despite his poor showing in 2013/14 it’s unlikely boss Garry Monk would want to see Michu leave this summer.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone will have a tough time keeping the nucleus of his La Liga title winning side together and has already seen veteran striker David Villa complete a move to the MLS and may feel Michu is ready to make a triumphant return to his native Spain.
