Porto striker has Atletico deal in place.Porto striker and Arsenal target Jackson Martinez is expected to confirm a move to Atletico Madrid after returning from the World Cup with Colombia, according to Fichajes.net.

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe during his two-year stint in the Portuguese top flight, and has long been linked with a move to a bigger club.

The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have previously shown a strong interest in signing the Colombian international, though he now looks set to make the switch to La Liga after holding contract talks with both Atletico Madrid and Valencia.

After considering both clubs, it is now claimed that Martinez has picked Atletico to be his next club and will make this announcement official when he returns from international duty in Brazil later this summer.

Although it will be something of a blow for Arsenal to miss out on Martinez, they may now be focusing on signing Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy instead, while Chelsea are believed to be close to confirming a £32m move for Diego Costa, whose departure from Atletico has seen the club move for Martinez as a replacement upfront.
